Ana Rita Gonçalves Neves Lopes Salgueiro (Rita Salgueiro)

Rita Salgueiro has a degree in Environmental and Applied Geology, concluded in 1999 at Faculty of Sciences (University of Lisbon), a MSc on Georesources concluded in 2001 at Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University of Lisbon) with work related with Stochastic Characterization of the Mexilhoeira Grande – Portimão Aquifer and a PhD on Engineering Sciences concluded in 2009 at Instituto Superior Técnico (Technical University of Lisbon) with the thesis “Modelling the Impact of Effluent Contamination in the Vicinity of Metallic Mines”. She was a collaborator researcher in the GMPG group of CERENA/IST from 1999 to 2014, where she has participated in more than a dozen research projects. From 2009 to 2014 she was a Post-Doc student at GeoBioTec in Aveiro University with research interest in establish the link between contamination in mining areas and human health (Medical Geology). After a period as a researcher from the “Ciência Sem Fronteiras” program at the Geology Department of UFC in Fortaleza (Ceará), is at the present moment Professor at this same institution and department. Since May 2015 is a member of the Post Graduate Programme in Geology at UFC.
