Free Course: Introduction to Computational Toxicology and Read-Across

Join a free 10-week live webinar with toxicologist Ron Brown on computational toxicology and read-across methods — open to students and early-career scientists worldwide, no experience required.

The Risk Science Consortium, in collaboration with the International Environmental and Health Sciences Consortium (IEHSC) and the International Medical Geology Association (IMGA), is pleased to announce a free, live 10-week webinar series introducing computational toxicology and read-across methods.

The course will cover in silico approaches used to predict the toxicity and pharmacokinetic behavior of chemical compounds — including exposure to both anthropogenic environmental contaminants and geogenic (naturally occurring) contaminants — and how these tools support real-world toxicological risk assessment.

About the instructor

The course is presented by Ron Brown, a world-renowned toxicologist and founder of the Risk Science Consortium. Ron is a member of the International Medical Geology Association (IMGA) and serves as a member and student mentor with IEHSC.

What you'll learn

• How to use open-source software to predict chemical toxicity

• Methods to evaluate the pharmacokinetic behavior of chemical compounds

• Practical skills for applying computational data to real-world safety and toxicological risk assessments

Why this course

Computational toxicology is playing an increasingly central role in chemical safety assessment, offering faster and more cost-effective alternatives to traditional testing. This course is designed specifically for students, postdocs, and early-career scientists — including those who may not otherwise have access to fee-based training — to build practical, hands-on skills using open-source tools, with no prior experience required.

How to join

The webinar is free to attend and open to all interested students and early-career scientists — no registration is required.
