A closer look at the virtual conference that brought together more than 600 delegates from 27 countries to support student research, international collaboration, and scientific exchange in medical geology and environmental health.
The International Environmental & Health Sciences Consortium (IEHSC) was pleased to serve as a co-sponsor of the 4th International Student Conference on Medical Geology and Environmental Health (ISCMGEH) – South Asia Edition, held virtually from November 24 to 29, 2025.
The conference marked an important milestone in a growing global series dedicated to student engagement in medical geology and environmental health. Bringing together more than 600 delegates from 27 countries, the event created a dynamic platform for young researchers, faculty, and scientific organizations to exchange knowledge and highlight emerging work at the intersection of Earth systems and human health.
For IEHSC, participation in this initiative reflects an ongoing commitment to supporting international collaboration, academic development, and meaningful opportunities for the next generation of scientists.
The six-day program featured a rich scientific agenda that included student oral presentations, poster sessions, keynote lectures, workshops, and a special documentary screening. The conference also included a dedicated e-poster wall, helping participants access and share research in a structured and highly visible format.
The breadth of topics presented during the event reflected the interdisciplinary nature of medical geology and environmental health, while the quality of the discussions reinforced the importance of regional and international platforms for student-led scientific exchange.

4th ISCMGEH South Asia 2025
Virtual International Conference
24 - 29 November 2025
72 student oral presentations highlighted current research in medical geology, environmental exposure, groundwater quality, sustainability, and public health across a wide range of emerging topics.
48 poster presentations created an additional platform for participants to share findings, discuss methods, and build meaningful connections with peers, mentors, and fellow researchers.
Two expert-led workshops, keynote lectures, and the screening of “Black Snow” expanded the conference beyond traditional presentation formats.
The keynote lectures brought together internationally recognized experts to address major themes in medical geology, environmental health, groundwater quality, sustainability, and public health risk. These presentations offered broad scientific perspectives while highlighting current challenges, emerging research directions, and the global relevance of interdisciplinary collaboration.

One of the defining strengths of the ISCMGEH series is its focus on student development. These conferences provide emerging scientists with a meaningful opportunity to present research, strengthen academic communication skills, gain recognition, and connect with peers and established experts across regions and disciplines.
By remaining accessible and student-centered, the conference model helps remove barriers to participation while building a stronger international scientific community. It also supports one of the most important responsibilities of established researchers and institutions: helping to develop the next generation of scientists.
IEHSC extends its congratulations to the RTM Nagpur University team, the Organizing Committee, the Scientific Advisory Committee, student volunteers, and all institutional partners whose efforts contributed to the success of the conference.
Special recognition is also due to the academic leaders and organizers who helped establish the high standard of this South Asia edition. Their commitment, coordination, and support helped make this conference an outstanding platform for student research and international scientific exchange.
