On May 29, 2025, NSUK held a historic pre-induction ceremony for the pioneer postgraduate students of the Jose A. Centeno Centre for Medical Geology (JACMEDGEO). This marks a groundbreaking moment, as NSUK becomes the first university worldwide to host a dedicated academic center offering advanced degrees in Medical Geology.

The JACMEDGEO, recognized internationally, offers programs at the Postgraduate Diploma, Master’s, and Doctoral levels, focusing on the critical links between geological processes and human health.
